Silver 7-Day Itinerary
This 7-day program has been carefully designed to immerse you in the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness and cultural richness. From the baobab-studded landscapes of Tarangire to the volcanic formations at Lake Natron, the lush beauty of Lake Manyara, and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, you will experience the full spectrum of wildlife and landscapes. The journey also takes you to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities around Lake Eyasi, offering you a rare opportunity to engage with some of Tanzania’s most traditional cultures. Each day combines game drives, breathtaking scenery, and cultural encounters, ensuring you leave with unforgettable memories.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will be transferred to Arusha, where the road passes through coffee plantations and the base of Mount Meru. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy the lodge’s natural surroundings before settling in.
Overnight: Moivaro Lodge, Arusha.
Meal Plan: Dinner.
After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, a scenic journey of approximately 2 to 3 hours. Tarangire is famous for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants. A full-day game drive allows you to encounter diverse wildlife, including giraffes, lions, wildebeest, and many bird species along the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, you will proceed to your campsite for relaxation and dinner under the African sky.

After breakfast, set off for the adventure-filled drive to Lake Natron, passing through rugged terrain and remote Maasai villages. This journey offers dramatic views of the Rift Valley escarpment and the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai, revered as the “Mountain of God” by the Maasai. Upon arrival, you will settle into your lodge and later explore the area with optional short walks to the lake shores, where flocks of flamingos gather.

Today is dedicated to exploring the wonders of Lake Natron. You will embark on guided walks to the lake, observing flamingos and other birdlife against the backdrop of the Great Rift Valley. You will also have the chance to trek to the Ngare Sero waterfalls, where cool streams flow through narrow gorges, offering a refreshing natural experience. This day provides both cultural and natural insights into one of Tanzania’s most remote landscapes.

After breakfast, you will depart Lake Natron and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park, nestled beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, is renowned for its lush groundwater forests, soda lake, and tree-climbing lions. A game drive will take you through forests, open plains, and lakeshores where elephants, hippos, zebras, and countless bird species thrive. In the late afternoon, you will head to your campsite for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater floor is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including lions, rhinos, elephants, wildebeest, and buffalo. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will ascend and drive to Lake Eyasi, a less-visited but culturally rich region where the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and the Datoga blacksmiths reside.
Overnight: Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
This morning you will set out early with a local guide to meet the Hadzabe community. The Hadzabe live a traditional lifestyle as hunters and gatherers, and you may join them in their morning activities such as foraging or hunting with bows and arrows. You will also visit the Datoga people, known for their iron-smelting and blacksmithing skills. These cultural encounters provide a rare glimpse into Tanzania’s living traditions. After lunch, you will return to Arusha for your departure or onward travel arrangements.
